Tim Cook, who recently transitioned from his role as Apple’s chief executive to become the company’s executive chair, has been awarded a compensation package valued at approximately $47 million. This package comprises a $2 million base salary and $45 million in stock, with half of the shares contingent upon meeting performance objectives, and the other half set to vest over a four-year period.
John Ternus has succeeded Cook as Apple’s CEO, bringing with him a wealth of experience as a longtime executive and former head of hardware engineering. Ternus is set to receive a $3 million base salary along with a $55 million stock award, with a significant portion of his package also tied to performance metrics. Under his new leadership role, Ternus will be responsible for steering the company’s product strategy and operations.
During Cook’s tenure as CEO, his compensation exceeded $74 million in 2025, reflecting the substantial growth Apple experienced under his leadership. The company’s market value soared to approximately $4.7 trillion, marking a significant milestone in its trajectory.
In his new capacity as executive chair, Cook will shift his focus towards external relations, managing Apple’s interactions with governmental bodies and policymakers. He will also oversee the company’s engagement with key international markets, ensuring that Apple’s global presence and influence continue to expand.
