An erroneous scoring incident has led the US Air Force to retract the promotions of 135 security forces personnel. The issue stemmed from the use of an outdated scoring key for the Security Forces Specialty Knowledge Test (SKT), resulting in inaccurate scores for those candidates who were initially informed about their advancement to the technical sergeant rank.
Upon recognizing the mistake, the Air Force undertook a comprehensive review, rescoring all 2,285 exam papers to ensure accuracy. This process identified the rightful candidates for promotion, reinstating the correct individuals to the pool of 586 available promotions. Consequently, the 135 promotions previously awarded in error will be corrected to reflect the accurate results.
