At the request of the Saudi Arabian and United Arab Emirates’ leaders, Trump agreed to delay the offensive, citing ongoing serious negotiations that might lead to a favorable deal. In a social media post, Trump detailed that the Emir of Qatar, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, and the President of the UAE assured him that the negotiations could result in an agreement beneficial to the United States and the Middle East.
The President emphasized that the prospective deal would ensure Iran does not acquire nuclear weapons, aligning with U.S. strategic interests. Despite this pause, Trump instructed U.S. defense authorities, including Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and General Daniel Caine, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to maintain readiness for military action. In the context of these developments, Iran recently sent a revised proposal to the United States through Pakistani intermediaries.
