Rhombus Unveils Cloud-Managed Single-Door Controller for Remote Access Control

by admin477351

Rhombus has unveiled its latest innovation in access control technology with the launch of the DC10 Single-Door Controller, a device designed to bring enterprise-level security to single-door environments through a cloud-managed system. This development is set to enhance the flexibility and efficiency of door management across various settings, including offices, retail stores, restaurants, gyms, and other locations where a multi-door controller might not be practical.

The DC10 connects individual doors directly to Rhombus’s comprehensive cloud-based access control and security platform. This connectivity facilitates remote management capabilities, including lockdown functions and integration with a variety of smart sensors. Notably, the controller’s compact design, featuring an IK08-rated plenum-mountable build, allows it to be installed in tight spaces such as above drop ceilings, ensuring minimal disruption to existing infrastructure.

Equipped with one wet/dry relay, one dry auxiliary relay, and four supervised or unsupervised inputs, the DC10 supports essential functions like request-to-exit and door position monitoring. Its design also supports 90 W PoE++ and PoE passthrough, providing both power and connectivity through a single cable, which can simultaneously support a nearby camera.

Moreover, the DC10 includes built-in connectivity for Rhombus environmental, intrusion, and motion sensors, as well as panic buttons, offering a line-of-sight range of up to 100 meters. This feature broadens the range of security measures that can be enacted in real-time, enhancing the overall security infrastructure.

With both Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity options, the controller maintains continuous cloud access, allowing operators to manage doors remotely without the need for an on-site server. This advancement simplifies installation processes and reduces infrastructure requirements, making it an attractive solution for smaller or distributed locations looking to expand their cloud-based access control capabilities.

The introduction of the DC10 Single-Door Controller represents a significant step forward in the integration of cloud technology with physical security systems, providing a versatile and efficient solution for modern access control needs.
